Najaf International Book Fair

Najaf's history dates back to 787 AD and flourished remarkably when the scholar Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Tusi, one of the most prominent jurists of his time, arrived in 1056 AD. Al-Tusi made Najaf a school for religious sciences, which graduated thousands of scholars in jurisprudence, principles, language, and literature. The Najaf school still hosts senior religious authorities and attracts thousands of students from all over the world. Najaf also gave birth to many great Arab poets such as Muhammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiri, Ahmed Al-Safi Al-Najafi, and Sayyid Mustafa Jamal Al-Din and others.

Sada Al-Arif Company worked on organizing the Najaf International Book Fair for three sessions, where tremendous efforts were made to make the most prominent cultural event in the city of Najaf successful, and it was truly up to the challenge and achieved the required success.

The Najaf International Book Fair was organized in its first session in 2021, where it received praise for the wonderful organization and warm reception of visitors. In the second session in 2023, the Read Initiative was launched for the first time at this fair, which had a noticeable impact on the large public turnout at the fair thanks to the encouraging atmosphere created by this initiative for families, students, and intellectuals.

Success continued in the third session in 2024, which was opened under the patronage of the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Rashid, and for the first time in Najaf, it was held in two halls due to the high turnout of publishing houses at the fair, where this session was exceptional in all its details.
